Rite Aid: Dreyer’s 1.5 qt Ice Cream for $0.16 ea!

Now this is a hot deal if I’ve ever seen one!  Not sure many of us *need* 6 (1.5 quarts) of Dreyer’s Ice Cream – but if you do this is the deal for YOU!

A reader (thanks, Jamie!) shared this deal on the TFF Facebook wall yesterday and I finally had a chance to test it out today, worked like a charm!  We have 5 birthday’s within a 3 month period so our Birthday Envelope took a major hit.  With the last birthday next week, this ice cream will come in handy!

Just a note, you CAN roll the $2 UPRs but the $5 UPR is a limit of 1 per household.

Buy (6) 1.5 qts of Dreyer’s Ice Cream – $2.99 ea
Pay $17.94
Get (6) $2 UPRs for each Dreyer’s Ice Cream
Get (1) $5 UPR for buying $15 worth of participating products

Final Price: $0.94 for (6) 1.5 qts of Dreyers Ice Cream or $0.16 each!

If you don’t happen to need or want 6 of them, they’re on sale for $0.99 each this week after UPR.

I just tried it with my card at Rite Aid here in AL (Edy’s icecream). It did not work. The cashier was nice enough to cancel my order. :-(

I’ve yet to shop Rite Aid and they’re UP rewards, don’t they limit them like CVS?

Dryers is the name we use here on the left coast. Like Hellman’s and Best Foods. Same, but different 😉

Thanks for clearing up the $5 UP limit one per household. I’ve done 2 deals over the past 2 days, and I didn’t get the $5 UP on my second transaction. Now I know why :)

Dumd Question…what is UPR?? Is it a coupon to use back in the store or does it take the total off at the register??

Is the Edys the same price( i know dryers is edys) and is this at the save a lot stores or just the rite aid stores only..we only have riteaid/save a lot stores:(

Its cheaper to do 5 ice creams and one lays stacks. $15 total and $15 in +UPs back = FREE ICE CREAM! Also if your store doesn’t have enough ice cream you can use the $1 as a filler to get to $15 worth!

I did it a 1/2 hour ago! Used $11 +UPR from last week, so only paid $7.12 Oop and still got $17 +UPR back!

Question…. Can I buy 1 ice cream at one time, and use the up reward to buu the second one. And use the upreward from the second ice cream to buy the thrid one……you get the idea….and I can still get the $5 upreward at the end and don’t need to pay $18 upfront?
    Thanks,

You can buy them individually and “roll” the $2 UPR to pay for the next one, however you will only get the $5 UPR if you purchase $15 worth in a single transaction.

okay, so i hope i don’t sound silly here, but i am still kinda confused.. do you have to save up “upr’s” to use them?? will have have to pay the full price now if i dont already have so many points? i am asking because i don’t have a rewards card now but will go to rite aide and sign up for one and am wondering if i can then puchase the ice cream and get the great deal??

Basically for the first transaction, you’d pay $17.94 and you’d get back $17 in UPRs to spend at Rite Aid on your next shopping trip. I hope that helps.

Reports are that you can do the same deal with the fruit bars too… better for ALL of us to not have so much ice cream on hand!

Just went and got mine. I have three boys so we will limit how much they have. But I wish I had known abaout the Lays stacks. Oh well. I have $17 UPS to spend on things we will really need later. Any hygeine product deals at Ride Aid this week? I love having free money to buy that stuff.
Thanks for the ice cream deal. Awesome.

  14. Lynne says

The ice cream deal was great! My family of eight can use that easily. My question is: how do you find out what the “monthly” up rewards are – like the recent hormel chili deal and the Lays Stax? Where is that info available?

i was bummed when my local rite aid had only two ice creams left in stock… guess that is to be expected when shopping on friday evening of such a super sale. anyway, i figure the sales for edy’s/dryers is on a cycle of sorts… anyone know or have a good guess of when (if ever) we might see the 99 cents sale again?
